FILLMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A teenager is dead after a deadly crash Tuesday night in Allegan County.
Deputies say Shawn Marroquin, 16, was behind the wheel of a car that had left the roadway and rolled over several times.
A passing driver reported finding the crash about 2:45am off of M-40 at 138th Street north of Hamilton. The car had been reduced to just twisted metal.
He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and the 1980 Mazda he was in was not equipped with airbags.
Marroquin was from the Saugatuck / Hamilton area and a student in the Hamilton School District.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
