  1. How much sleep should kids really be getting?

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine is releasing guidelines for the first time.

They recommend 12 to 16 hours of sleep for infants 4 months to 12 months, 11 to 14 hours for children ages 1 to 2 years, and 9 to 12 hours for children ages 6 to 12 years.

Teens 13 to 18 years old should be getting 8 to 10 hours of sleep.

They also say parents shouldn't lose too much sleep over these guidelines, but consistent inadequate sleep is linked obesity, diabetes, depression and more.

2. The tech giant Apple kicks off its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco Monday.

The event offers our first taste of what new features iPhones will boast this fall.

Along with a peek at iOS 10, attendees will likely see a whole lot of Siri, Apple's digital voice assistant.

The big rumor points to Siri working with third-party apps.

3. We've heard of credit card debt and student loan debt, but what about cookie debt?

That's the term for those who don't pay girl scouts for the cookies they've purchased, and it's apparently a growing problem for troops in Illinois.

Officials say the current cookie debt for 15-thousand scouts across 16 counties is about $20,000.

Officials started giving out delinquency forms to troops when someone doesn't pay, and then the organization investigates. If their investigation doesn't turn anything up, that form gets passed onto police.

Officials say troop members can't sell cookies until all their debt is settled.

4. It's called the best "dog gone party in town,” and it's happening Tuesday.

The Bissell Pet Foundation is holding their annual Blocktail Party in Grand Rapids.

At Mangiamo! on Lake Drive, the foundation is expecting more than 800 people and their pets to come out.

The event is meant to raise money to support local animal welfare organizations. The goal for this year is to top the $500,000 organizers raised last year.

There will be food, entertainment, and an auction.

It's going on from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, and there will be a limited number of tickets at the door.

5. A long held wish for a Michigan teen with cancer has come true, thanks to Make-A-Wish.

17-year-old Storm Miller of Okemos has wanted a puppy for a long time, and now he's got a 9-week-old English bulldog.

He was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, and says that his new puppy, Murphy, is more than a gift, it's a new friendship.

To make things even better, a local pet hospital is covering the first year of Murphy's healthcare.
