GENEVA TWP, Mich. — A pipeline that spilled over 8,000 gallons of diesel fuel on a Van Buren County farm is fully operational again.

A spokesperson for the Wolverine Pipe Line Company stated that the pipeline has been repaired, tested, and has been working for the past week.

Thepipeline began leaking when a farmer accidentally struck an eight-inch Wolverine line while doing excavation work. This happened June 3 on land near County Road 380 and 62nd Street in Geneva Township.

The soil impacted by the leak is in the process of being replaced with new soil, according to the spokesperson. There is no definite deadline as to when this will be completed.

Officials at Wolverine used this opportunity to tell people to call 811 before doing any excavating or digging.
