MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. — Public input led Montcalm County deputies to a man they say is at the center of a credit card fraud investigation.

Ross Martine Towne, 32, was arrested Friday, June 10 after the Sheriff’s Department said they received several tips about him being involved in some sort of credit fraud. Deputies visited his home in Sheridan and said that statements he made – coupled with evidence found at this home – led to his arrest.

Towne was arraigned on charges of possessing a financial transaction device without the consent of the device holder, the illegal use of a financial transaction device, retaining a financial transaction device without consent, and being a habitual offender.

He is being held on a $10,000 bond and a parole detainer.
