Vicksburg loses to Richmond in division 2 state championship game

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Richmond pitcher Erin Shuboy threw a no-hitter to lead Richmond to a 2-0 win over Vicksburg in the division two softball state championship game Saturday at Michigan State University.

Bulldogs pitcher Avery Slancik allowed just one earned run and struck out eight in the circle.

The Blue Devils scored both of their runs in the top of the 4th inning.

Shuboy walked just one, Slancik in the 2nd inning.

Vicksburg (36-9) graduates just two seniors, 2nd basemen Olivia Holmes and left fielder Alicia Cagney,  off this years squad.
