Landlord arrested for allegedly touching female renters

BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Grand Rapids man has been charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct, 4th degree for allegedly touching female tenants.

Frank Tjoelker, 43, is being held on a $110,000 bond.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, a woman contacted them after she went to meet Tjoelker about renting an apartment that he owns in Byron Township.  She told police that she went alone to see the apartment and Tjoelker allegedly approached her while she was filling out the application and began to rub her shoulders and touch her inappropriately.  She pushed him away and fled from the apartment.

After making the report, detectives heard from other women who allegedly had similar experiences with Tjoelker while filling out applications for the apartment.
