Former Emmett Twp. officer sentenced for sexual assault

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A former Emmett Township public safety officer has been sentenced to ten months in jail and four years of probation for an assault of an adult family member.

Troy Estree will receive credit for six months already served.  The probation is described by the assistant prosecutor as “swift and sure” probation, where the offender is closely monitored.

Estree was originally charged with other cases of Criminal Sexual Conduct involving a teen relative, but he was found not guilty of those crimes.
