PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 14-year-old girl told police that a man tried to lure her back to his van by offering to sell her popcorn, and when she refused, he tried to grab her.
It happened Sunday afternoon on the boardwalk that runs near cottages along Terrace Walk in Park Township. The teenager told police that she was out walking when a man approached her, asked if she wanted some popcorn, and invited her to his van to go and pick it up.
The girl said she refused, and the man grabbed her by the wrist. She was able to kick him and run off.
The suspect is described as a white man between 25 and 50 years old, 5’10” tall, and 200 lbs. The victim says he was wearing a multi-colored shirt, khaki shorts, a wide-brimmed hat, and reflective sunglasses.
