FRUITPORT, Mich. – Police are searching for the suspect in a robbery earlier this week at The Lakes Mall.
Fruitport Police say they were called to the mall about 3:15 Monday afternoon on reports of a shoplifting incident. The suspect physically resisted Loss Prevention employees and ran from the mall. The suspect then allegedly forced his way into a vehicle driven by a 43-year-old woman.
The suspect drove for about a mile before letting the woman go. She was not hurt and police recovered the vehicle a short time later.
Police say they have video surveillance of the suspect and are trying to figure out who he is, but the video is not being released at this time.
