Missing Kentwood man reunited with family

UPDATE: The Kent County Sheriff’s Department has just announced that “the subject has been located and reunited with family. Disregard the request for assistance.”


KENTWOOD, Mich. — The Kentwood Police Department is requesting the assistance of the community to help locate a missing man.

Micheal Joseph Pillette is a 21-year-old black male standing approximately 4 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was possibly last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt.

Pillette is missing from his home in the area of 28th Street and Ridgemoor SE.

Police said he reportedly has diminished mental and physical capacities as well as trouble communicating. There are concerns that he may be confused and unable to get home on his own.

The last reported sighting of Pillette was at the Dollar General store at 3015 28th St. SE at approximately 8:30 a.m. Sunday. He does not have access to a vehicle and was last believed to be on foot.
