KENT COUNTY, Mich. -- Justin Greenlaw, 27, appeared in a Kent County courtroom for his arraignment on four criminal charges. He's accused of secretly recording two nude or partially-clothed women at a business in Grand Rapids.

The incidents allegedly happened on June 15th and the 29th. He's also accused of using a computer to commit a crime. Greenlaw was an athletic trainer for Kent City Schools.

"He's a trusted adult, and what's happened here is a violation of trust," Mike Weiler, the district superintendent said.

While the charges don't stem from any incidents at the school district, authorities said that possibility is being looked into.

Weiler said, "He'd been there in his position for 2 and a half years and had done a good job for us."

He said the 27-year-old passed a background check before getting the job. Greenlaw worked for Spectrum Health and was then contracted to work with Kent City Schools 20 to 25 hours per week. When one of the alleged victims contacted authorities, Weiler said the Kent County Sheriffs Department contacted the district. Greenlaw was fired.

"We sent a letter out to all our parents, middle and high school parents on July 14th regarding this matter. No one has contacted us regarding any situations with their children," Weiler said.

The superintendent said the school resource officer has also been in contact with students and parents potentially affected.

Greenlaw has also been let go from his position at Spectrum Health. He is out on bond and is expected back in court for his preliminary hearing August 9th.
