The Humane Society of West Michigan brought along 7 year-old Nala, an American Staffordshire who has been in the shelter since May, to be showcased in our Friday's Friend segment.

Nala has been with the shelter since May and is looking for her new foster home or home. Our crew quickly learned that she is very lovable, told she is gentle with children and people. She would do best in a home with no other dogs, but by chance you would like to give it a try, the Humane Society can set up a meeting. Also, Nala loves going on doggy jogs!

Since Nala is 7-years-old, her adoption fee is waived!

Currently, the shelter is running an "I Like Big Mutts" special where all dogs 40 pounds and larger are only $100 to adopt until funding runs out.

Also, Saturday, July 23, there's a "Clear Out the Shelters" event where all adopters, excluding those wanting puppies, get to spin a prize wheel for a chance to earn adoption discounts and prizes. These can be used on top of the "Big Mutts" special that is already happening! Hours for Saturday are 11 a.m .to 4 p.m.
