1. A new CNN poll is showing that Trump is leading Clinton, following the Republican National Convention.

44 percent of voters favor Trump, to Clinton's 39 percent.

Trump's boost rests largely on increased support among independents, 43 percent of whom now say they're more likely to back Trump.

The new findings mark Trump's best showing in a CNN/ORC poll against Clinton since September 2015.

2. Kalamazoo Valley Community College is holding an enrollment event today.

It's called "Get It All Done in a Day." It's supposed to be a one stop option for students who still need to finish registering for school.

You'll be able to finish placement testing, attend orientation, meet with a counselor, and register for classes.

Parking is free, and there will be snacks and giveaways.

The event is going on from noon until 6:30 p.m. at the Texas Township campus, on West O Avenue in Kalamazoo.

3. The decision of whether to allow food trucks to operate in downtown Grand Rapids will be decided today.

City commissioners plan to vote on an ordinance allowing food trucks to operate in public spaces five days a week.

It would be a two year pilot, and city officials would evaluate how it went.

There’s been strong opposition to food trucks coming to downtown, mostly from restaurants. Mark Sellers, who owns a dozen restaurants, says it's long overdue and that food trucks will bring even more people downtown.

4. Who has the grandest sandwich of them all?

The 2016 Grandwich competition is now down to the top 10 finalists.

The top 10 restaurants were announced Monday, and they were picked by the public, who voted online.

The restaurants include Black Heron, San Chez Bistro, and Stella's Lounge.

Both Founders and Grand Rapids Brewing Company also got a spot in the top 10.

A panel of judges will now go to each restaurant to test out their sandwiches.

The winners will be announced on Thursday.

5. Muskegon city officials are hoping to entice businesses to use its Port to Transport products during what's known as Port Day today.

According to MLive, more than 100 executives and CEO’s  from organizations around West Michigan will be in the area learning more about the port of Muskegon.

The invitation only event takes place this afternoon.

City officials say their goal is to show companies that its port provides better, faster service for shipping goods in and out of the area.

Muskegon Lake is the largest, natural deep-water port in West Michigan.
