Coldwater crash leaves 22-year-old passenger dead

COLDWATER, Mich. — A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in a one-car collision over the weekend.

At 1:48 a.m. Saturday, Coldwater Police Department officers were dispatched to a personal injury accident on Hull Street near Vans Avenue. The investigation revealed that a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt being driven by 24-year-old Andrew Joseph Pitt of Coldwater had left the roadway and struck a large tree.

Pitt suffered multiple broken bones and internal injuries, and is hospitalized at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

A passenger in the car, 22-year-old Paige Holland Graves, was unconscious and suffered severe injuries to the head and face. She also was transported to Parkview Hospital where she later died.

Assisting at the scene were the Coldwater Fire Department, Lifecare Ambulance and Branch County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Coldwater Police Department.
