KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help to locate a teen who they say ran away from home.

Kyra Sherer, 15, was discovered missing Saturday by her mother in Oshtemo Township, according to a release.  Her vehicle was later found in Kalamazoo and she told relatives that she was safe and out of state.

However, investigators say they checked with the bus/train station and could not confirm that she used either service.   They believe she is still in the Kalamazoo area.

Sherer is 4 feet 11 inches tall and 140 pounds with dirty blonde hair with red streaks.

Police say she is friends with 18-year-old Dion Hulbert, who lives in Kalamazoo.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 269-383-8822 or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
