BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — Police have recovered most of the money stolen during a July 20 bank robbery in Big Rapids.

On Sunday, the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety announced that the money had been found thanks to a letter sent from jail by Anthony Oby Loose, the 33-year-old who has been charged with the Big Rapids bank robbery.

According to Public Safety, on Friday its investigators intercepted a letter from Loose identifying the location of the money stolen during the Fifth Third Bank robbery on July 20.

Based on the information in the letter, investigators from Big Rapids Public Safety, the Norton Shores Police Department and the FBI were able to recover a substantial amount of the money believed to have been stolen during the July 20 bank robbery.
