GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – Public Safety Officers in Grand Haven are looking for a man who has made some inappropriate comments to women on the boardwalk recently.

Officers say they were called about a situation on Monday, August 8th, when a woman walking on the boardwalk was approached by a man who began walking with her.  The man told her he had recently moved into a nearby farm house and was starting up two new businesses.  He also told her that she was attractive.

The woman went into a business at Chinook Pier to get away from the man.  He then started looking into other businesses in the area.

An employee at a nearby store on Chinook Pier told officers that the man also approached her and commented on her looks as well.

Officers say that a similar incident was reported in March at the same general location.  In that incident, the man also touched a woman inappropriately after following her on the boardwalk.

The man is described as white, in his mid-30’s to early 40’s, and is well-groomed with dark brown hair and a beard.  He has an earring in his left ear. He was wearing a teal-colored athletic shirt, khaki shorts and tennis shoes.

The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety urges anyone with information similar to these incidents to call Detectives at 616-842-3460, the Ottawa County Silent Observer Program at 1-877-88-SILENT (745368), or via the web at www.mosotips.com.
