Former WMU coach Bill Cubit visits Davenport practice

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --  Davenport's football team had a special visitor at practice on Tuesday.  Former Western Michigan University, and University of Illinois head coach Bill Cubit stopped by to check in on one of his former assistants.  Davenport coach Lou Esposito spent time on Cubit's staff at Western Michigan from 2010-2012.

Davenport football opens it's first official season against Taylor University (Ind.) at noon on Aug. 27 at the university's new 1,500-seat stadium at the Farmer's Insurance Athletic Complex.
