GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A man is in custody after a domestic dispute, chase and crash overnight.

The incident began just before midnight in the 800 block of Turner Avenue northwest.  Grand Rapids police were called to the scene because a car had crashed into a house and then drove away.  Officers say they found the vehicle near Leonard Street and Turner and tried to stop it, but the driver turned onto southbound U.S. 131.

While fleeing from police, the driver hit another vehicle on the highway and crashed.  He was taken into custody after being treated for minor injuries.  The other driver was also treated for minor injuries and released.

Police say that the situation began with a domestic dispute.  They say that alcohol appears to be a factor in the incident.  Official charges are still pending from the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office.
