Wyoming asks residents to avoid 36th and Byron Center Ave.

WYOMING, Mich. - Public  Safety in Wyoming is asking people to stay away from an area around 36th Street and Byron Center SW as crews are responding to damage from Saturday afternoon storms.

A command post has been set up at the scene.  Police, fire and Consumers Energy crews are all at the scene.  There are no reports of injuries at this time.

Power is out in much of the area.  Residents are reminded to stay away from any downed power lines.  You can report them at 800-477-5050.

Several trees are down in the area as well.  Many Wyoming streets are also flooded.

Pinery Park is closed and will remain closed for the remainder of the day.
