COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. -- Will Maddox enters the final 15 games of the Midwest League regular season just eight hits shy of tying the West Michigan Whitecaps single-season record of 164, set by Wynton Bernard in 2014. Maddox's 156 hits in 2016 are tops in the MWL, where he is second in the league with a .341 average, five points behind Luis Arraez of the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
