GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– The National Weather Service has issued a beach hazard statement which is in effect from Tuesday into late Wednesday night.
According to the hazard statement, beaches from Holland to Manistee are considered highly dangerous right now due to high waves, strong currents and even possible riptides, making for dangerous swimming conditions.
The statement also warned that beaches on the south side will be the most dangerous, with waves ranging from 3 to 6 feet high. Those areas include Grand Haven State Park and Pere Marquette Park in Muskegon.
The National Weather Service advises taking precautionary actions and also being prepared when heading to these areas.
