BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Battle Creek Police Department seized guns and drugs after serving a search warrant Friday night.

At that time officers working with the Gang Suppression Unit, the Highway Interdiction Team and the Battle Creek Special Investigations Unit all executed a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Hubbard Street. The investigation by the Gang Suppression Unit culminated in the seizure of the narcotics and guns.

A total of six guns were confiscated from the house — three handguns, a shotgun, an assault rifle and a machine pistol.

Police said two of the six guns may have been used in a shooting that happened in July.  Forensic testing by the Battle Creek Police Department and the Michigan State Police will help determine if these guns were used in that shooting.

One female was arrested for warrants, delivery of narcotics and several weapons violations.

Battle Creek police said it is believed that this seizure will help diminish shootings that the community has recently experienced.
