BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Battle Creek Fire Department is investigating a suspicious fire late Friday night on Greentree Boulevard inside an apartment building.
Fire crews responded to the fire around 10:45 p.m. Friday and found heavy smoke pouring from the building.
Crews at the scene say something in the stove was burning when they arrived, according to a release from the Battle Creek Fire Department.
Responding firefighters were able to remove the burning items from the stove and ventilate the building, allowing residents to return to their apartments.
The cause of the suspicious fire is being investigated by the Battle Creek Fire Department’s Fire Marshall Division.
