WYOMING, Mich. – Two teens will spend 40 to 75 years in prison for killing a Wyoming teen in March.

Carlos Delgado and Quentin Schafer pleaded guilty in August to beating and stabbing Michael White, 16, to death.  Delgado and Schafer were both 15 at the time of the crime and were charged as adults.

White was a junior at Wyoming High School. His body was found in Lions Park in Wyoming March 19.

White was stabbed more than 20 times and was found with at least five areas of major blunt force trauma to his head, including “fractures to the upper and lower jaw,” a doctor who performed White’s autopsy previously testified in court. Police testimony stated brass knuckles, a knife handle, and then later the knife blade were found within 25 feet of White’s body in Lions Park.

Delgado and Schafer faced a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted, so they pleaded guilty and cooperated to admit each other’s involvement in the crime.
