HOLLAND, Mich. — A body pulled from Lake Michigan near Holland State Park on Friday afternoon is believed to be that of a missing teenager.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department told FOX 17 the body of a male was found near the Holland pier and deputies believe it to be the body of Christopher Mimis, 17, who went missing at the lake on Aug. 31.
Investigators say the body was found about 300 yards north of the north pier by Holland State Park. The body is being taken to Grand Rapids for an autopsy.
Mimis was last seen swimming with friends by the north pier. Mimis’ friend, Vincent Green, 14, also went missing the same night, but hid body was recovered Sept. 1 near the pier.
