COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. -- A pair of loyal customers at Amore Trattoria decided to leave a much larger tip than usual one Sunday afternoon -- a stack of 50 dollar bills -- one for each of the restaurant's two dozen employees.

"I think they did it not to be recognized, you know," says Jenna Arcidiacono -- restaurant owner and chef. "I think they did it out of the goodness of their hearts."

The tip was left during a fundraiser for victims of central Italy's major earthquake that occurred in late August. But Arcidiacono doesn't think the money was given in reward for holding the fundraiser.

The couple asked about the size of the restaurant's staff well before the earthquake and the fundraiser occurred. "They asked me a couple of weeks prior," she said. "They were like, hey -- just casually -- 'Hey, how many employees do you guys have?'."

The entire staff, including Angelo Piccione -- a food prep chef at Amore Trattoria -- is grateful for the extra cash. "I'm going to take my wife out to dinner," said Piccione.

In addition to the tip money, the generous couple left extra money to help with the fundraising efforts. Arcidiacono estimates they raised a total of $6,000.
