BUTTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities have identified a 71-year-old man who was accidentally shot and killed at a cabin in Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula by his older cousin.

The Grand Rapids Press reports Tuesday that Gerald Burgeson was on a three-wheeler Monday evening and crossed in front of a target being used by 74-year-old Ronald Dunn for shooting practice.

Burgeson, of Metamora in Lapeer County, and Ronald Dunn, from the Detroit suburb of Livonia, both owned the cabin in Butterfield Township. Authorities say they used the cabin, southeast of Traverse City, for hunting.

An autopsy was planned Tuesday and the Missaukee County sheriff’s office is investigating.
