KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A 36-year-old woman from Kalamazoo is behind bars after police say she stabbed her 42-year-old boyfriend early Saturday.

Police say they found the victim, suffering non-life threatening conditions, in the 1400 block of North Park Street. The victim advised his girlfriend stabbed him and was now at a home in the 400 block of West Frank Street.

That’s where deputies say they found evidence that an assault took place. Officers then attempted to make contact with the suspect, who quickly disappeared from officers.

Deputies eventually obtained a search warrant and arrested the woman. She is currently awaiting arraignment on felonious domestic assault charges.
