OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. – A former softball coach charged with raping a 13-year-old former player is behind bars after violating his bond for the third time.

Court documents show that Thomas Galloway was with a 17-year-old girl and was drinking at a local restaurant, which is a violation of his bond.  The girl is a high school student, a former softball player and a witness for the prosecution in the case against Galloway.

The documents show police took his cell phone and found deleted texts between him and the teen, exchanging “I Love Yous” and setting meeting locations.

Galloway’s attorney admitted in court that his drinking was a bond violation, but pointed out that the bond didn’t allow for contact with girls who were 16 and under.

The judge increased Galloway’s bond to $500,000.

Correction: An earlier version of this story said Galloway was under house arrest.
