GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A preliminary hearing for a teen accused of killing his half-sister was adjourned for a competency exam Tuesday morning.

Savon Schmus was in court Tuesday for the hearing for the murder of McKenna Hilton.  Hilton's body was found on August 18th in a wooded area in Grand Rapids Township.

Schmus's attorney asked the judge Tuesday for competency, insanity and criminal responsibility exams for his client.  The judge agreed and adjourned today's hearing which was to provide evidence for a trial to be scheduled.  The hearing will be rescheduled after the competency exams take place.
