LANSING, Mich. — Marijuana legalization was kept off the November ballot, but an advocacy group is re-organizing and making another push for the future.

The second petition drive was announced on the MiLegalize Facebook page Thursday. Their goal is to legalize recreational marijuana use.

The group’s first attempts at making the November ballot were stopped after the state’s elections board said they didn’t collect enough valid signatureswithin a 180-day period to qualify. The Michigan Comprehensive Cannabis Law Reform Committee tried to appeal the decision, but it was turned down by the state appeals court and the Michigan Supreme Court.
