Dowagiac police dog assists in arrests of three people in three days

DOWAGIAC, Mich.– A Dowagiac police dog is wracking up impressive numbers when it comes to assisting in arrests, with three people arrested in three consecutive days.

Tole is a Dowagiac Police K-9 who has only recently joined the force as of last April and showed his stuff beginning on the weekend of September 23.

Around 10:10pm on Friday, September 23, Tole was able to discover suspected crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and marijuana inside a vehicle during a traffic stop, leading to the arrest of a woman who also had additional license and insurance violations.

The next day, Saturday, September 24, around 9:00pm police found vehicle parked near the intersection of N Paul St. and Spruce St. with a stolen license plate. Tole was able to locate crack cocaine inside that vehicle and found stolen property. The driver was arrested for possession of cocaine, receiving and concealing stolen property and driving with a suspended license.

The K-9 finished the weekend on Sunday, September 25, around 8:05pm with a traffic stop on E. Prairie Ronde St. near W. Railroad St. in Dowagiac. Tole led officers to suspected meth, meth paraphernalia, and marijuana. A man was arrested for possession of meth and marijuana.

All suspects are currently being held at the Cass County Jail. Their identities are not being released at this time.
