GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- If you've checked out the ArtPrize exhibits around the Ford Museum, then you've seen the giant L-E-D screen entry showcasing Michigan photography. The two photographers behind all those pictures will soon have their work featured across the country.

Combined, Todd and Brad Reed have over 50 years of experience shooting Michigan's great outdoors and soon the country will be able to check out their work and the beauty of our pure Michigan. The October issue of Outdoor Photographer Magazine will hit newsstands October 4th with Todd Reed's picture as the front cover.

“I’ve subscribed to this magazine for probably 35 years," Todd Reed tells FOX 17. "It is the holy grail of outdoor photography magazines. We’ve always aspired to be featured in it and have Michigan featured in it and we have finally succeeded.”

Grabbing a hold of a nationwide magazine isn't easy, but the stunning colors of a Michigan Fall nabbed the attention of the editor.

“Last year they had done a story on where to shoot fall color in the US and they didn’t mention Michigan," explains Brad Reed. "So we sent our newest book and wrote a nice little note in there saying, 'hey, you should feature Michigan, this is where the Fall color is really at.'”

The editor of Outdoor Photographer Magazine loved it, offering them a few pages and the cover of the October issue. Todd says it's a huge honor for the Reeds but also for the state.

“We’re proud of Michigan, we are Michiganders and to have Michigan featured means a lot to us," Todd says.
