ArtPrize top 20 voted on by public announced

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The top 20 art pieces as selected by the general public casting votes was announced Saturday.

A total of 1,453 pieces were submitted to be a part of ArtPrize Eight and now a top 20 has emerged.  The pieces are split into four categories: Two-DImensional, Three-Dimensional, Installation and Time-Based.  Each category will have a $12,500 winner.  One artist will eventually take the $200,000 grand prize in the 2016 public vote.

Voting for this round closed at 11:59 p.m. Saturday.   ArtPrize says there was 31,744 visitors that cast 336,334 votes in this portion of the contest.
