BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A 27-year-old woman is in custody after leading Calhoun County deputies on a chase overnight.

The chase began just after midnight when deputies tried to pull over a vehicle for running a stop sign near Dickman Road and Carl Street in Springfield.  The vehicle didn’t stop and headed on to Battle Creek.

Deputies say the vehicle lost a tire in the area of Webber Street and LaVista Avenue in Battle Creek and came to a stop.  The woman who was driving tried to run from deputies but was quickly caught.  She was arrested and is expected to be charged with Fleeing and Eluding Police, Resisting and Obstructing Police, Operating While Intoxicated, Driving with a Suspended License, Possession of Marijuana and Driving with an Improper Registration.

Two other people were in the vehicle.  They were released without charges.  No one was injured.

The woman’s identity will be released after her arraignment.
