GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – It can be a tough life being a dog.

All joking aside, dogs can suffer from anxiety when left alone or because of seasonal changes. Luckily, there are some preventative measures you can take to avoid that, and Must Love Dogs Boutique and Spa has you covered.

First, for a relatively inexpensive way to combat anxiety, make sure your dog is getting enough vigorous exercise. This can include participation in activities ranging from running, biking, and playing fetch with your pooch. Don’t just restrict this practice to dogs either – Tonya Christiansen of Must Love Dogs says cats need their regular exercise too.

For a more herbal approach, Tonya recommends a line of chews and tonics that can calm your animal in stressful situations. Interactive toys can also help to reduce anxiety and stimulate your dog’s learning abilities.

For more on ways to keep your pets calm and for more general information on Must Love Dogs, visit their website,  Facebook page and visit them at Dogtoberfeston October 15th from noon – 3 p.m. in Grand Haven.
