WYOMING, Mich.– You don’t have to have any special talent, you just need to be willing to be a positive influence on a student.

Right now, there’s a big need for mentors for middle and high school students throughout Wyoming.

Duane Bacchus and Rob Conrad work with Kent School Services Network inside Godwin Heights High School, and say sometimes, all it takes is just lending an ear for a young person.

All it takes is one hour a week to meet with a student and be a positive influence on their life.

Godwin Heights junior, Mahogany Lee, got into the program in middle school and meets with her mentor every week during the school year. She wants other students to hear how having a mentor has influenced her, personally.

If you're interested in becoming a mentor, contact Duane Bacchus at 616-252-2050, ext. 2137.
