It happened in front of 2280 Turner Street NW in Grand Rapids.  Kent County Dispatch confirms a vehicle took out a power pole before it struck a building.

Walker Police say that the driver, a 48-year-old man from Grand Rapids, was hit by a rock that crashed through his windshield.  The rock hit him in the head.  He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Investigators found the rock inside his vehicle.  It weighs about 11 pounds and was about 8 inches by 7 inches in size.  They believe the rock fell off a white semi truck pulling a black dump trailer that was heading south on Turner Avenue.
