HOLLAND, Mich. — A 24-year-old man is charged in a fatal Wednesday shooting at the Traditions Holland Apartments.

Darveaille Jamar Blakeney was arraigned Thursday in 58th District Court on charges of open murder and felony firearms connected to the shooting death of 41-year-old Joseph Shatown Jordan.   Jordan was found dead Wednesday with several gunshot wounds.

Officials say the incident started as a domestic dispute between Jordan and his girlfriend.  Blakney, the woman’s son, allegedly intervened and shot him.

He fled the scene and was later arrested by the Holland Department of Public Safety.

No other injuries were reported.
