WEST MICHIGAN — Hopefully you enjoyed the sunshine the last couple of days, because today looks anything but sunny. Low pressure passing just to our south today and tonight will keep rain in the forecast, along with gusty winds. Temperatures will also be hesitant to rise due to the extensive cloud cover and the chilly rain falling through the air. Here’s a look at where the approaching weather system is as of this early morning writing:

The low that’s now in western Iowa will move east/southeast through the day and into tonight, keeping us on the wet side of this system. Here’s a look at what Future Track HD shows in terms of rainfall right around dinner time:

As you can see, our forecast model suggests some snow could fall along US-10 at times. This is indeed a possibility, but no accumulating snow is expected.

The rain should taper off tomorrow morning as that low pulls away from the area and into the Northeast U.S. It will still be chilly, however, with north to northwest breezes and mostly cloudy skies. An area of high pressure sliding in on Friday will bring plenty of sunshine to the area, along with warmer temperatures. In fact, the weekend and Halloween look very nice overall with only a chance of a morning shower on Sunday.
