WYOMING, Mich. — A man was shot in the hand on a party bus in Wyoming and police are now searching for a suspect following the overnight shooting.

At approximately 3 a.m. Saturday, the Wyoming Department of Public Safety responded to a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of Chicago Drive on a rented limousine bus.

The suspect and victim got into a physical fight on the bus, according to police. When the bus pulled over due to the fight, two to three shots were fired from a handgun, hitting the victim in the hand.

The suspect and all other riders then fled from the bus.

The victim — a 24-year-old Grand Rapids man — was located four blocks away, where he then attempted to flee and fight officers who were there to assist him. Officers were then able to assist the victim, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

All witnesses and the victim gave vague statements about the incident.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid 20s standing 6 feet tall with a stocky build.

The incident remains under investigation by Wyoming Public Safety, which is asking for the public’s assistance with information that may lead to the identification of the suspect.
