MONROE, Mich. (AP) — A man has been ordered to stand trial on a murder charge in the death of a woman who disappeared after a huge Halloween party in southeastern Michigan in 2014.

A Monroe County detective testified Wednesday that Daniel Clay confessed to killing Chelsea Bruck during rough consensual sex in his car. The body of the 22-year-old was found in a wooded area in April 2015, six months after attending a party with hundreds of other people.

Clay was arrested in July. Detective Brian Sroka says Clay indicated that Bruck died after asking to be choked. An autopsy found multiple facial fractures and two chipped teeth.

Clay told police that he tried to revive Bruck, although he never called 911. The defense contends her death was an accident.
