WEST MICHIGAN -- Many of us have already experienced our first snowfall of the season in West Michigan, but more cold and snow is quite possible (and even likely) this weekend as a strong front is expected to blast through the area by the end of the week.

Ahead of this system, Michigan is expected to see temperatures in the 60s/to near 70 on Thursday and Friday with somewhat breezy/windy conditions. Behind the front, temperatures will plummet by Saturday with highs in the upper 40s around/after midnight, then falling through the day. Rain showers early Saturday may mix with and/or changeover to some wet flakes later in the day.

By Sunday, the air coming over Lake Michigan will be plenty cold enough for some lake effect snow showers, flakes, or flurries with highs only around 40. Indeed, a breezy, raw, gloomy, brisk day! More in what we've come to expect for mid-November.

Make sure to get the complete forecast at www.fox17online.com/weather. Keep in mind that our high temperatures most of this week will be well above our normal high of 49 degrees. Break out the coat, hats, and gloves. We'll need it by this weekend! Photo courtesy of Charles Russell...taken during our first West Michigan snowfall this season October 26.
