BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Police are searching for a driver they say hit a man and then drove away, leaving the victim injured on the side of the road.

The 45-year-old man was found lying on the side of the road around 7:30 Friday evening near W. Jackson and 20th Streets, according to the Battle Creek police department.

Authorities say it appears the man was hit by a vehicle that did not stop. The man was taken to the hospital with what were described as serious injuries.

Police say the suspected vehicle is a light blue 2001-2007 Chrysler Town & Country or Dodge Caravan minivan. The passenger side or front end are likely to have damage, according to police.
