GRCC chooses new president

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Grand Rapids Community College has a new president.

The college’s Board of Trustees announced Monday that Dr. Bill Pink has been named GRCC’s 10th president.  The board held a special meeting Monday to make the decision.

Dr. Pink is currently the GRCC vice president and the dean for Workforce Development.  According to a press statement, Dr. Pink came to GRCC in March of 2015 after serving as vice president for academic affairs at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City.

According to GRCC, Dr. Pink has been an educator for over 25 years and has taught or coached in Oklahoma, Nebraska and Oregon.  He is a former college basketball player and is in the York College Athletic Hall of Fame.  He has an associate degree from York College in Nebraska, a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Christian University, a master’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and a doctorate from the University of Oklahoma.

Since coming to Grand Rapids, Dr. Pink has been on the board of directors for Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids and West Michigan Works!
