HOLLAND, Mich. – The snow continues to fall in West Michigan, making for some very hazardous driving conditions.

It doesn’t take much to send a vehicle skidding off the road.

A tow truck driver with Holland Towing says he can help pull out more than a dozen vehicles that have slid off snowy roads.

“I get a phone call and go wherever it needs me to be,” says Henry White, with Holland Towing. “Most of them are slide offs, some get stuck going off the road.”

The sight of cars stranded on the side of the road is a common thing during snowy weather.

One driver who slid off I-196 says he waited for more than an hour for a tow truck to pull him out of a ditch.

“My son was in the jeep, and I just wanted to get him home and safe,” said Donald Hoye, a Holland resident. “Just taking her easy, giving people space, then the truck in front of me didn’t have break lights and he stopped. And the only way to avoid him was to go into the ditch.”

Holland Towing says they often get calls from law enforcement for slide offs, but most of the time, it’s people calling from their vehicles asking for help.
