GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- It's one thing to be doing some last minute Christmas shopping, and another to do it when a snow storm makes it harder and more dangerous to be out on the roads.
"Last week we had a winter snow storm and traffic was okay; it wasn't as heavy as usual," said Lyndsey Hicks, a spokesperson for Woodland Mall. "And since we are getting another one this weekend, it's going to be crazy because this is the biggest shopping Saturday of the year."
Heavy snow is expected overnight Friday but should taper off by 9 a.m. Saturday morning. The FOX 17 Weather Center is forecasting that snowfall is expected to pick back up Saturday evening at about 6 p.m.
Woodland Mall has extended holiday hours from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
