KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Police say a woman from Grant died following a crash in Alpine Township Saturday afternoon.

It happened shortly after noon at the intersection of Baumhoff Avenue NW and 6 Mile Road NW.

A 2015 Ford F-150 and a 2012 Chevy Malibu crashed at the intersection, according to a press release from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the F-150 pickup truck had the right of way when it collided with the Chevrolet Malibu, which had pulled into the intersection. Police said it was not immediately clear whether the Mailbu stopped completely at the stop sign.

Four people were inside the Chevy Malibu. Officials say the driver, a 35-year-old Grant woman died at the scene.  Her passengers,  a 39 year-old man and a  17-year-old male  were hospitalized for serious injuries. All three were reportedly from Grant. Police say a 20-year-old female passenger  from Fremont was treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the truck, a  45-year-old man  and a 45-year-old female passenger were not hurt. A 15-year-old male passenger was treated and released. Police say all three in the truck were from Essexville, Michigan.

The crash remains under investigation.
