WEST MICHIGAN — We’re tracking a band of snow just offshore of South Haven and Holland as of this early morning writing that will penetrate inland soon.

North to northeast winds blowing across the lake have caused this band to develop, and it will quickly move inland as winds switch more to the north/northwest in the next couple of hours. In fact, there is a Winter Storm Warning in effect for Berrien County until 1 PM:

Here is a look at where this band is as of this writing:

By 10 AM, this band will be making its way into Allegan, Van Buren, Cass, Kalamazoo, and St. Joseph counties:

This band of snow will become less organized as it moves inland this afternoon, but some snow showers are still possible as far east as Battle Creek and Grand Rapids. By 5 PM, we could still have some flurries and snow showers, even though our model suggests it’ll be mostly over with by then:

Snow totals by the lakeshore are expected to be 1 to 3 inches, with higher amounts possible along the shore and just inland from South Haven to St. Joseph:

After another very cold day tomorrow, milder weather will work into the area for the rest of the week. Snow showers may interrupt your Christmas travel plans on Thursday and Saturday, so be sure to keep checking in with FOX 17 for more information as the week progresses!
